December 3, 2010

{ First, thank you to everyone who follows my blog on Google Reader/RSS .  Please update your link now to: }

There have been so many AMAZING changes in my life during the past year, including the move to Charlotte, NC!  To celebrate all these changes, I have one more to announce:  my new website is FINALLY LIVE!

I’ve been working around the clock for months redesigning, coding, rewriting, reediting…not going to lie, it’s been a lot of work.

But, I would like to think that everything is much more organized, easier to use {on the computer AND mobile phones}, and is much more me.

I also have to thank Cathie Hong of ampersandity for redesigning my new logo, which went live a few months ago.  Her calligraphy  is AMAZING, and she is SO great to work with.  Another thanks to Sarah Marshall {whose wedding will be on the blog soon!} and Brendan who have given a second eye every step of the way.  Alyse, {a fellow wedding photographer and friend} was AWESOME and helped test and give feedback, and Lisa {friend and super talented journalist} who helped me edit my about section {she also helps edit every major essay/grant proposal that I write! haha}.  I seriously have the best friends in the entire world.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Now, take it for a test ride {here}! and {here}!

{ My photojournalism site (linked off the personal tab) still needs an entire overhaul as well, but I’m going to take a little break for Christmas before I take on that beast! ;) }

diller family

November 28, 2010

There’s a lot of love in this family.

The Dillers moved to Muskegon a few years ago when they felt called by God to help start a young adults ministry at Forest Park Covenant Church.  Over time, the ministry became Renovate Church and also my home church until I moved to Charlotte.

The Dillers are AWESOME.  Misty and Dave are killer creative (which makes me feel like I can do my job without any boundaries!), and the kids are crazy fun.

Misty has the best, most amazing laugh EVER.

I think the kids loved this game…especially Caleb :)

You two are SO adorable!

Diller fam.,  thanks for inviting me to play on a cloudy afternoon :)  I had so much fun working with you all!  See you in a couple weeks!

happy birthday

November 27, 2010

Another much belated post…

Happy Birthday to the man who makes my day everyday :)

I took him to Bald Head Island, which is on the coast of North Carolina. The island is incredibly quiet and serene because no cars are allowed.  Definitely worth a visit!

giving thanks

Even though I’m stuck in a flurry of a million and one things to do after Thanksgiving weekend, I still wanted to reflect on what I’m thankful for this year.

GOD, who has blessed me with more than I could ever ask for.

Grandparents that are still alive.

Supportive, amazing parents (+ brother).

My aunt and uncle (above)  have had an incredibly difficult year involving the loss of their beloved dog and the loss of their home to a fire.  I’m thankful that they + my cousins are still alive and well :)

All of my friends and the boys that keep them happy :) + Brendan who makes me the happiest girl.

And, of course, all of my wonderful clients who have chosen me this year!

Happy {belated} Thanksgiving!

Ay, I don’t even know where to start with the Teller family.  They pretty much ROCKED my socks off.

Paul and Maxine touched base back in April after seeing Ellen and Travis’ wedding photos and inquired about setting up a family session the next time I passed through Washington, D.C.  I’m so thankful that we were able to cross paths while I was on my way to Charlotte!

Aviva and Joshua are hilarious.  Paul wasn’t sure how they would be on camera, but INSTANTLY they started posing, dancing, and laughing.  They were so much fun to work with.

Joshua does this little hula dance thing, and it is so cute.  I was cracking up during my edit.

Aviva can do a one-handed-cartwheel.  She’s way more talented than my ex-cheerleader self.

These two are so full of character.

I think this may be one of my favorite “film strip” collections.

Maxine and Aviva have the BEST hair.  Seriously.  And these two photos = two of my favorites.

Work it Maxine!  You are gorgeous!

Aww.  Two sweet moments.

Make that four…

P aul, Maxine, Aviva, and Joshua: thanks for choosing me to photograph your family.  I had an absolute BLAST working with all of you!
