…in progress

November 7, 2008

I’ve been diligently working on two multimedia pieces about two AMAZING, inspirational women.  Paulette and Barbara were both diagnosed with breast cancer, and both are part of the Mission Project–a group of African American women who have dealt with cancer and are interested in preventing disease and promoting a healthy lifestyle in the community.  Paulette has been in remission for 5 years and has been using her life to serve others through her job as director of social work at Meals on Wheels in Syracuse. Barbara, 36, is a single mom with four children who moved a year ago from Florida to attend college in Syracuse.  She was diagnosed here and had a lumpectomy to attempt to kill the cancer.  However, the cancer was aggressive, and Barbara is presently going through another round of chemotherapy. Both women have taught me thus far to appreciate and LOVE life…and more importantly to TRUST GOD.  I’ll be posting the final pieces once they are finished…but here are a few of my favorite shots so far.
