edge of clear meaning

September 9, 2009

I was exploring NYC, and happened to come upon the International Center of Photography.  Of course I went inside, and fortuitously came upon a Richard Avedon exhibit!  It was refreshing to be in a gallery looking at one of the most famous fashion photographers of the 20th century.  I definitely was inspired.  Here are a few of my favorites from the exhibit:

Also, John Wood had a mini-exhibit, and I kind of love this quote:

“I would like my pictures to be abstract
And poetic visual images
Of friends and the world
No storytelling
Sometimes slight propaganda and quiet protest
On the edge of clear meaning”
-John Wood, 1977
