learning how to bend

July 13, 2010

Meghan used to know me by “Lange.”  I knew her by “Halloran.”  Today, she is Mrs. Rollins.

Meg and I spent the majority of our after-school hours as cheerleaders in high school.  One might wonder where I got the pep in my step and the bubbly character from…oh yes, I had practice.  I was a captain my senior year.

I digress.

Meg met Ty on a blind date in South Carolina.  Even though she dreaded showing up, she clearly changed her mind after meeting him and eventually fell in love.  I had a great time with the southern belles and gentlemen in the bridal party.  The guys carried their jackets over their shoulders the entire time we did group pictures…no joke.  Meg explained to me that this is what they do in the south.

I just thought they were trying to be classy.

Meg and Ty had a beautiful reception in downtown Grand Haven above Porto Bellos.  Her brother, the man of honor, and Ty’s dad, the best man, gave a great speeches before dinner.  Overall, it was a great evening with PERFECT summer weather.

Meg included part of her mother’s veil in her bouquet.

The ceremony was held at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Meghan’s friend painted all the wine glasses and beer mugs for the bridal party and intermediate family.

I love these quiet moments at weddings.

Ty’s grandmother joined in on the mother-son dance.

Congrats Meg & Ty!  Enjoy your honeymoon cruise!
